Over the past 5 years of being involved with the Christian Marketplace Network, aside from being able to utilize the services of some great Christian businesses I have developed a network of strong Christians that have literally changed my Christian walk at work. It has been said that we become like the people we surround ourselves with and being surrounded by such strong believers within Christian Marketplace Network has been a very positive influence in my life.

I have also been challenged by many of the presenters over the years. Whether its at a local chapter meeting with Charlie Budd sharing his call to become a missionary in Ghana Africa or Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell challenging me to take a stand and become active in influencing the policies of our state government, I have left many meetings with new insights on what it means to be a Christian in the marketplace.

With the relationships that I have developed over the years, I now have many counselors in Christ that I feel very comfortable going to in challenging situations. As it states in Proverbs 15:22 “Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many counselors bring success”. The Christian Business Network provides many counselors and for those who utilize them, success is imminent.

Last September I took a leap of faith when I took a leave of absence from my position as Professor of English at Otterbein College to establish Ambassador Press, LLC. Needless to say, I entered this new marketplace arena with a degree of uncertainty. I heard about Christian Marketplace Network and was invited to attend a luncheon. Having spent several months participating in various chamber and networking meetings, I attended the first Christian Marketplace Network event held in Cincinnati in October of 2002. As a first-time visitor to Christian Marketplace Network Dayton North I was unsure of what to expect from the meeting. However, I was greatly amazed and was brought to tears after being touched by God through so many of his willing vessels at the meeting.

I quietly sat and observed how God was using the leaders to touch the lives of every single person in the room and they especially touched mine. I quickly learned the priorities of Christian Marketplace Network were to always put God first! Through relationships with other Christian Marketplace Network members I feel like I have grown to be a stronger Christian. It seems like I learn new things at every meeting and then my life is touched by what I learn both before during and after the meeting through Christian Marketplace Network member relationships.

Having been involved with Christian Marketplace Network since the beginning I can report to you that many good things have happened over the years and God has blessed us with many new friends and many good business relationships.

Probably the most significant thing that has happened was being introduced to Joe Eckstein at the Northeast Columbus chapter. We were looking for a graphics designer for our printing business and Joe was looking for a job.
